Cynthia Kerr Veitschegger was born Dec. 17, 1931, in Allensville. She went on to be with her Lord at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 25, 2013.
Her parents were William Kerr and Maria Louise Gill Kerr. She is survived by her children, Rodney Dean Veitschegger Jr., M.D., of Bowling Green, Frederick Bense Veitschegger of San Antonio, Texas, William Kerr Veitschegger, Ph.D of Folsom, Calif., Maria Louise Childs, M.D. of College Station, Texas, Cynthia Anne Bauer of Lenoir, N.C.; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Fisher of Indianapolis and Sarah Gill Kerr Sears of St. Louis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney D. Veitschegger Sr.; and three brothers, William Kerr of Ann Arbor, Mich., Robert Kerr of Knoxville, Tenn., and John Kerr of Allensville.
She had 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She received her master’s degree from Western Kentucky University and was a music teacher in the Warren County School system for many years.
Cynthia Veitschegger was dedicated to serving God. She was an excellent pianist and served in the capacity of church pianist for the majority of her adult life, with the longest time of service at Bowling Green Christian Church.
Her wisdom, knowledge of scripture and wise counsel were well known and admired. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. Her example of an unassuming, accomplished student and love of God led her children and those around her to seek the higher ideals she held dear.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Belmont Cemetery in Allensville.
