Paul Russell Corbin, 87, of Alvaton, went home to be with his Lord on Nov. 30, 2013, in Bowling Green.

A native of Adair County, he was the eldest son of the late Willie Ewing and Hallie V. Corbin. He was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Imogene Corbin and Arlene Velma Brothers.

Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna Ruth Corbin; three daughters, Brenda Corbin Highsmith of Greenville, N.C., and Linda Corbin and Judy Corbin, both of Bowling Green; a brother, Travis T. Corbin (Glenna) of Knifley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a born again Christian with previous membership in Dunbar Hill Baptist Church in Knifley, Campbellsville Baptist Church and most recently at Greenwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green. Paul was a WWII veteran of the Army and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University, his Master of Arts degree and his Rank I certification from Western Kentucky University. He retired from teaching after 40 years of beloved service to children in the Adair County Schools system.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday.
