Judith Lois Hooker, 70, of Chalybeate, passed away Jan. 2, 2014, at her home. She was a retired home health worker.
The McLeansboro, Ill., native was the daughter of the late John Wilson and Geneva Deitz Mezo and wife of the late Troy Hooker.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Mezo and wife Marlene of Carbondale, Ill., and Kevin Hooker and wife Tabitha of Owensboro; three daughters, Kristina Coop and husband Leslie, Angela Bright and Joetta Lynn Hooker (Neal Blondin), all of Smiths Grove; three brothers, John W. Mezo of McLeansboro, James Mezo of Cuba, Mo., and Bob Mezo of McLeansboro; a sister, Nancy Markle of Wheeling W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with burial in the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. Local arrangements by Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel.
