Robert “Bob” Joseph Stamps, 72, of Bowling Green, passed away Jan. 3, 2014, at his residence. The Warren County native was born Sept. 4, 1941, the son of the late Margie Marie Riggs Stamps and Lawrence Joseph Stamps. He was preceded in death by a sister, Garnett Nell Stamps Peay.
Mr. Stamps graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended Western Kentucky University. He was a former employee of Whitney Transfer, BADA, Meguiar’s, and was a retired real estate agent. Mr. Stamps was a active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Scott Stamps and his wife, Beth, of Bowling Green; a sister, Pat Stamps Miller Morgan of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Lauren E. Stamps Segers and her husband, Ryan, of Bowling Green, and Taylor A. Stamps of Bowling Green; four nieces, Cheryl Church and her husband, David, of Bowling Green, Lori Miller Hanson and her husband, Coy, of Bowling Green, Jan Miller Montgomery and her husband, Ed, of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Heather Miller Wilson and her husband, Michael, of Bowling Green; a nephew, Kenny Peay and his wife, Joan, of Bowling Green; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Calvary Baptist Church.
