J. T. Barnett, 61, of Bowling Green, a native of Franklin, died June 11, 2014, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
J.T. was employed by Berry Plastics and Lowe’s of Bowling Green. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. J.T. was a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. J.T. loved farming, bush-hogging and being outdoors. J.T. rooted faithfully for the Kentucky Wildcats when it came to basketball. When time would allow, J.T. loved to golf and go fishing.
J.T. was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Barnett and Edna Downey Barnett.
J.T. is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marcina Barnett of Bowling Green; a son, Brandon Barnett (Tisha) of Bowling Green; five sisters, Mary Claypool (Jim) of Seaside, Calif., Ann Detherage of Seaside, Calif., Darlene Fields (Lee) of Abilene, Texas, Lucille (Dennis) Whitaker, Clarksville, Tenn., and Virginia Stubbs (Larry) of Los Angeles; two brothers, Willie Barnett (Beletha) of Franklin and Robert Barnett of Franklin; three grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; a host of nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law and many relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Burnam & Son Mortuary Inc.
Funeral is at noon Monday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with interment at Fairview Cemetery.
