Marie Pitcock Witty, 84, of Bowling Green, passed away June 22, 2014, at Jefferson Manor in Louisville.
The Bristletown native was a daughter of the late Elijah Parker Patterson Pitcock and Lou Ella Louis Pitcock and was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Witty, and her son Mark Witty.
Mrs. Witty was a graduate of the Temple Hill class of 1950. She was employed by Bowling Green City Police for 35 years, and for many years cared for children in her home. She was a member of Greenwood Park Church of Christ.
Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen S. Head (Witty), MD (Mark) of Louisville; two sons, David B. Witty (Leigh) of Park City and James H. Witty (Karen) of Glasgow; a sister, Louise Hutchens of Louisville; six grandchildren, Parker Head, Brandon Witty, Logan Witty, Hunter Witty, Alex Witty and Andrew Witty; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Big Reedy Christian Camp, ℅ Michael Greene, 1002 Lehman Ave., Bowling Green, KY 42103.
