Iron Skillet's German Potato Dumplings


  • 8 medium potatoes
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • flour as needed


  1. Peel and boil the potatoes until soft. Drain and mash smoothly.
  2. Blend in yolks, cornstarch, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and shape into dumplings. You may need flour to help hold the dumplings together.
  3. Roll each dumpling in flour and drop into boiling water. Cover and cook for about 15-20 min. Drain and serve.
