S. KY Regional Farmer's Market Asparagus


  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed
  • 3 T butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 c. packed grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 T fresh basil
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1.5 t. lemon juice


Steam asparagus until just crisp-tender, about 4 minutes. Arrange on a
broiler-proof platter. Beat butter until fluffy. Beat in cheese, basil,
garlic and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Drop by
teaspoonfuls over asparagus. Broil until topping browns, about 3 minutes.
Serve hot.
