Brandy Spiced Applesauce


  • 8 large gala apples
  • 2 tbs lemon juice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbs apricot brandy
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon


    Peel, core and slice apples into wedges. Toss apples in lemon juice, pour in water and cover in sauce pan. Cook on side burner, low heat, for approx. 30 minutes or until apples are soft. Add sugar, brandy, brown sugar and cinnamon. Simmer an additional 10 minutes. Using either wire whip, blender or ricer, crush softened apples into smooth applesauce.
