Cranberry Hootiecreeks in a Jar
1-1/8 c. all purpose flour
½ t. baking soda
½ t. salt
½ c. rolled oats
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. dried cranberries
½ c. white chocolate baking chips
½ c. walnuts or pecans, chopped
Directions for layering in jar:
In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a wide mouthed quart jar, layer ingredients as follows: ½ flour mixture, uncooked rolled oats, remaining flour mixture, granulated sugar, brown sugar (tamp lightly), dried cranberries, white chocolate baking chips, and chopped nuts. Seal the jar and attach gift card with the following directions.
Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, beat together ½ cup softened butter, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until fluffy. Add contents of jar and mix until well blended.
Drop rounded tablespoons onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until edges start to brown. Cool on wire rack.
