Arepas Venezolanas Con Carne
2 1/2 cups HOT water
2 cups arepa flour
1 tbsp salt
Carne (Beef Tips):
1 lb beef tips
Adobe (to taste)
Mojo (pour until tips are covered)
First pour the water into a mixing bowl. Then quickly pour the arepa
flour into the water. Add the salt. Begin mixing with your hands the
mixture- until all the water has soaked in and you can form little
Heat up a sauté pan and add butter. Cook until they are a little brown
on each side. Then place in the oven on oven rack for 20 min at 400
Right after they come out of the oven, immediately begin slicing down
middle- not all the way through. And spread butter inside and stuff
with grated queso (farmers cheese). Then serve.
Marinate for at least an hour (you can do overnight). Place in a
skillet with a little bit of olive oil. Cook until well done-about 10
min on med heat.
You can also make fried eggs to go with this meal!
