BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Bowling Green is mourning the loss of an established community member. B.J. Booth passed away at Hospice of Southern Kentucky Wednesday.
He founded Booth Fire and Safety in 1962, and served as its president until 2002. He brought Doug Gorman aboard in 1995, and sold the business to him in 1999.
Gorman says Booth was a mentor, and a father figure, who taught him all about the business. "Gave me constructive criticism when I was, when I needed it," said Gorman. "A whole lot of encouragement, was my biggest cheerleader."
Gorman says Booth was heavily involved in numerous service organizations, and will be greatly missed for how he gave back to the community, but even more missed by his family. B.J. Booth was 88 years old.
