UPDATE: Police identify five of the six confirmed dead after four-vehicle collision on I-65 Northbound

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- UPDATE 7/14/17 5:05PM

At this time, officials have released the identity of five of the six victims killed in the crash on I-65 late Thursday night.

Kentucky State Police say Robert Hogan, 77, Jonell Boster, 48, Lonnie Boster, 59, Carl Boster, 17, and Lonnie D. Boster, 30, have died as a result of injuries. They were all riding in a Hyundai ENT van.

Reports show all of the above were from Indiana (Beech Grove and Indianapolis).

One other passenger was in the van -- a juvenile -- who is at Vanderbilt Hospital being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the second involved passenger vehicle has not been named at this time. Police are making sure family is notified first.

Police say both semi-truck drivers were treated and released at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and no cause has been released at this time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Kentucky State Police have confirmed six fatalities in a multiple vehicle collision on I-65 N near the 30 mile marker late Thursday night.

Police say that two passenger vehicles and two semi-trucks were involved. The preliminary investigation revealed the accident occurred at a portion of I-65 where road construction was being conducted and the roadway merges from two lanes to three. A semi was was stopped in traffic in the right lane with two passenger vehicles stopped behind it.

A second semi failed to stop and struck the rear passenger vehicle causing the chain reaction collision.

KSP units arrived on scene at around 11:15 p.m.

The names of the deceased have not been released due to pending notification to family members, and two involved deceased individuals have not yet been identified. Kentucky State Police and the Warren County Coroner’s Office are working diligently to make notifications and positive identities at the time of this release.

At 12:30 a.m. the Warren County Coroner, Smiths Grove Fire Department, and Highway Department arrived on scene to assist in redirecting traffic from Exit 28 N to 31-W.

As of 5:09 am on July 14, 2017, all northbound lanes of I-65 have been reopened.
