CAVE CITY, KY. (WBKO) -- On Saturday, the Cave City community joined the Parsley family at the Cave City Convention Center for a benefit event, for 10-year-old Coleton Parsley.

Coleton was injured in January, during a sledding accident when he hit a utility pole.

As a result, the 10-year-old suffered many broken bones and a traumatic brain injury, that has been extremely costly.

Friends of the Parsley family decided to put a benefit together, that included entertainment, a silent auction and dinner.

Caroline Parsley, Coleton's sister who has been with him during most of his time at the hospital, says her brother is doing much better.

"Currently he is at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and he is doing great with his rehab, they really push him and get him motivated to do good so he can be back to where he was."

Many showed up in support of the family something that Regina Parsley-Byrd is extremely grateful for.

"I will be 66 years-old this August, and in all my life I have never had anything this humbling and such heartfelt support, it is not only been our community, surrounding communities and the state of Kentucky, it's been all over the United States, we've even had people from international states have reached out to us."

Regina adds that all they ask for is prayers for Coleton and thank everyone who has helped them.
