UPDATE: Boil water advisory partially lifted: Monroe County

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - The Kentucky Division of Water has lifted the boil water advisory which was issued on Thursday, August 07, for all Monroe County Water District customers on and along HWY 100 to the Meshack Bridge, HWY 163, HWY 1049, and the areas of Sand Lick, Sulphur Lick, and Persimmon. This was due to low chlorine residuals in these areas. This affected approximately 1,030 customers..

A boil water advisory is still in affect for approximately 145 Monroe County Water District customers on and along HWY 100 past Meshack bridge, HWY 214 and the Turkey Neck Bend area. These customers should bring the water to a rolling boil for at least three minutes. This boil water advisory will continue until further notice.
