BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Around 4:30 on Monday afternoon, the Bowling Green Fire Department responded to what they say was a fire alarm at J. C. Penney.

Although they initially thought it was a small structure fire, the first crew to get there determined it was "something small inside of the bathroom" according to BGFD Shift Supervisor Greg Elrod.

There was a question about whether this was arson or not.

"I can't disclose whether it was or wasn't at this time. They are investigating it, and I think that actually came from the J. C. Penney employees," responded Elrod.

Elrod said they are still investigating the incident.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
