BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Spending most of the year on shrubs, mulch, and grass, David High likes to stay busy.
"Sometimes we'll go 18 or 19 hours straight without any time off."
His business, American Signature Lawn Care, is one geared for the summer, but he's winterized his inventory.
"We kind of get excited when we hear about snow. We hope it comes on down this way."
David is one of a few lawn care companies who don't stop completely in the winter, instead opting for snow removers and plows.
"It's a really good thing to do in the winter time. I kind of get claustrophobic. I don't like being inside all the time."
Thursday he spent some time checking his equipment, in case the radar got a little busier as the afternoon progressed.
"Snow brooms are a great way to remove snow and not scratch up anybody's pavement. When it gets above four inches then we go to a snow plow."
The last few years have kept him completely busy.
February and March have been his busiest months in 2015 & 2016.
High said the ice is what causes he and his crews the most trouble.
There's been so much of it the last two winters, snow day has a different meaning for him than most.
"If you need somebody for snow removal you'd probably better be contacting someone right now."
David said he's got clients lined up waiting for him to clean their parking lots if the snow does pile up.
As this storm rolls through he'll be looking out his window just like everyone else.
