Bowling Green pastor preaches unity at divisive times

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- A Bowling Green pastor is getting some attention for a sermon he gave regarding some of the divisive rhetoric he says has been floating around the country.

Jason Pettus of Living Hope Baptist Church says people need to be less concerned about themselves and start thinking about being more accepting of others, and their way of life, while also welcoming them into their own.

"Instead of worrying about myself," he explains, "I'm going to seek to be concerned in service of others and welcoming them in to my life with love, hearing them and helping them see that there is another way to life."

Pettus tells 13 News that he recently saw where a historian said that the United States is the most divided its been since the Civil War, and he doesn't want to see it get any worse.
