BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Bowling Green Police Department notified us at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday that a group called the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform based in California, told them on April 4 they would soon be displaying graphic abortion photos in Bowling Green.
No sooner did we get that notification, than we received a picture from a WKU student showing the photos on display in Centennial Mall on campus. The picture is too graphic to show.
The organization says their displaying of the pictures is protected by the free speech clause of the first amendment. Police chief Doug Hawkins says showing the pictures does not break any law and the city has no right to prevent free speech activity.
The BGPD news release and the letter from the CBR are attached to this story.
