BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Last summer Contour Airlines began flying out of Bowling Green to Destin, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. The Florida flights were popular; the ones to Atlanta, not so much.
So Contour pulled the plug on the Atlanta flights, but starting May 13 they are resuming their flights to Destin until August 13. They will fly on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays; so folks can have a long weekend or stay for an entire week, without sitting in traffic for hours on I-65.
"I'm hopin' for those folks that were stuck in traffic for a long period of time," says BG/WC Regional Airport Manager Rob Barnett, "will remember next time they plan their trip to Florida, that we are less than two hours away."
Barnett says they've been selling tickets online for about 40 days now. He says he's very encouraged by ticket sales so far, and he looks forward to more people enjoying the two-hour flight to Destin this summer.
