Crime Stoppers: Stolen Cash

By  |

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Bowling Green Police say on Thursday, April 14, a woman told them she had lost an envelope of cash. She said she retraced her path and believed she left the envelope on the counter of a fast food restaurant on Scottsville Road.

Police reviewed video surveillance and saw the woman put the envelope on the counter and inadvertently leave without the money. A short time later, an elderly white male, while making a purchase, picks up the envelope, looks inside, and puts the envelope back on the counter.

After making the purchase, the man picks up the envelope and puts it in his pocket. No attempt was made to notify employees as to the rightful owner of the envelope. The woman lost over $800 in cash.
