Duvall hopes to speed up wait times with office expansion

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- "We are a growing community which is a good thing. However as we continue to grow, we are also rapidly outgrowing the resources of the department," said Warren County Circuit Court Clerk Brandi Duvall.

That's why Duvall wants to make some changes to the driver's license department.

"We will simply restructure, reconfigure what we currently have in there, utilize wasted space and create a floor plan that will accommodate those four cameras, but also actually up to six cameras, which will be important for future growth," said Duvall.

She also wants to add an express lane for people trying to get in and out quickly.

"Which will service the people who come in on their lunch breaks who just need to do a quick renewal or get a duplicate or their name change, the transactions that don't take very long, those people can get in and out more quickly with that Express Lane," Duvall added.

The project must be approved by the county and state, but Duvall said she's already met with Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon.

"This site will actually provide all of the information that Warren County residents need to know as far as what you need to bring. It will be updated with REAL ID information as it becomes available, closings, computer outages, anything that will affect Warren County drivers, it will be available on this website," Duvall said.

The website she plans to pay for out of her own pocket.

As of right now, there is no timetable on when the project would begin.

Duvall says the county would be reimbursed by the state for the expansion project in the driver's license office.
