BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- A group of students from Metcalfe County got out of the classroom on Tuesday to learn about management, financing, and the labor it takes to run a small business.
All of those skills, and more, while high school students took a tour of Twin Bridges Christmas Tree Farm in Warren County.
Snow fell on the trees as students walked around the property, being taught about the types of trees, the care they need year-round, and the process so popular this time of year -- running a business of chopping down the trees to sell for Christmas.
"It's a good learning environment for everyone to get out of Metcalfe and go look at some things and learn. I love going on trips, it's fun. Good experience," says Colton Nunn, a Junior at Metcalfe County High School.
Teachers say Tuesday's field trip also included a trip to the WKU Ag Farm. More than 40 students in agriculture and biology classes participated in the field trip.
