Governor's Awards presented for enforcing seat belt laws

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) -- Warren County Deputy Sheriff Kenneth Wayne Mayfield has received the 2018 Governor's Award for enforcing seat belt laws in the Commonwealth. The Sheriff's Office wants to congratulate Deputy Mayfield for his hard work and dedication.

Scottsville Police Officer Trevor Thompson also received the 2018 Governor's Occupant Protection Award. He earned the honor for issuing the most seat belt citations during the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Click it or Ticket campaign.

And Glasgow Police Officer Nick Houchens won the same award. The awards ceremony in Lexington is sponsored by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and works with state and local law enforcement in an effort to save lives by enforcing seat belt laws in Kentucky.
