BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Due to popular demand, the Hardin Planetarium on Western Kentucky University's campus has added additional show times and dates for its eclipse show.
Planetarium officials say they've had several people show interest in their show, "Into The Shadow Of The Disappearing Sun".
The show focuses on the upcoming eclipse.
In fact, there's been so much interest in the show, additional times have been added to make sure everyone gets a seat.
"In the five years that I have been here as planetarium coordinator, we have never had a full house until these last few shows, and today we literally turned people away from the first show," explains Ronn Kistler, Hardin Planetarium Coordinator.
Almost all of those people who didn't get a seat for the first showing on Sunday stayed for the second showing.
It's not just the public getting more interested in the eclipse, either.
"I'm really excited," says Kistler. "It's just a life-changing experience and I now find myself picturing it in dreams every now and then and thinking 'wow, is this what it's going to be like?'"
The additional show times of "Into The Shadow Of The Disappearing Sun" are as follows:
Saturday, Aug. 19 at 5:30pm and 7pm
Sunday, Aug. 20 at 1pm, 2pm, 3:30pm, and 4:30pm.
All shows are free to the public.
"We almost have never done Saturday shows unless it's a special event," adds Kistler.
"We also have the SKy Science Festival going on in Circus Square Park in Bowling Green which is all day Sunday [Aug. 20] afternoon. People in fact, if they register ahead of time online, can get free solar viewers from coming to that festival. It's all about science and will be eclipse-theme oriented," he adds.
The solar eclipse is on August 21.
