Western Kentucky will face Valparaiso at 4 p.m. CDT on Nov. 15 on ESPNU in the opening round of the Myrtle Beach Invitational, the event announced Wednesday.
The Hilltoppers have never faced the Crusaders before. Valparaiso went 15-17 and 6-12 in the Missouri Valley Conference last season and had an RPI of 181.
Should WKU defeat VU it would advance to face the winner of the West-Virginia-Monmouth contest. Central Florida, Wake Forest, Saint Joseph's and California State Fullerton reside on the other side of the bracket.
The second day of the tournament is scheduled for Nov. 16 with the final day of competition slated for Nov. 18.
All games will air on ESPN Networks.
