BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, but it is also the busiest for shopping centers, families, and roads.
Road reports say over 54% of people in America were on the road or in the air today to travel home from their turkey time feasts.
Warren County Sheriff's Office Captain, Tim Robinson, advises locals to be careful when on the road for this holiday season. He says more people are coming in to Bowling Green to go shopping and of course, for family visits.
"I would suggest they give themselves extra time when they are travelling," Captain Robinson said. "Pay attention to other motorists, and give themselves enough time to react if they need to."
Captain Robinson also said it is extremely easy to get distracted on the road during the holiday season, so it's imperative to not do anything too distracting while driving.
He also said this is the time the area starts getting more freezes, and to be sure your car brakes are working correctly.
Be sure to always check road conditions when travelling anywhere during this holly jolly holiday season.
