COLUMBIA, Ky. (WBKO) - KSP says they are investigating human remains of a man found in Adair County.
The remains were found in the city limits of Columbia on North Highway 55 and the Columbia Bypass by a local business man that was picking up business road signs when he noticed the remains.
The body found near United Citizens Bank had a wallet found with it.
"We did find identification with the remains but what stop short of giving anything firm of the individual until we can confirm the individual by any means necessary at the Medical Examiner's office," said Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory.
The Post 15 Public Information Officer said the identity of the body wouldn't be announced until the autopsy was performed Tuesday morning. Currently, there's no one in the Columbia area police were looking for.
"We don't have a missing person in this area that could be associated with these findings."
Police said it was too early in the investigation to discuss the possibility of foul play.
The body could have been in the area of brush from anywhere to few days to a few weeks.
