BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The international breakfast chain, IHOP celebrated National Pancake Day. The annual event offers free pancakes to customers.
In place of payment, IHOP encouraged guests to make a donation at the restaurant benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Shiners Hospitals for Children and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The general manager at Bowling Green's location said their store raised $5,000, hoping to hit that target and then some.
"Oh goodness, it's been busy. We've got a lot of folks coming in, ready to get that short stack, and donate to the kids," said Cameron Moore.
Bowling Green's IHOP will give the collected donations to the UK Kentucky Children's Hospital.
In total, the company hopes to reach this year's goal of $5 million after donating close to $30 million since starting the fundraiser in 2006.
