KSP Investigating Fatal Collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (WBKO) -- On Friday, October 6, Kentucky State Police began an investigation of a single vehicle, fatal collision in Muhlenberg County.

According to police, the crash happened around 12:26 p.m. at the 50 mile marker westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

From a preliminary investigation, KSP discovered that the vehicle -- for unknown reasons -- exited the roadway resulting in a rollover collision.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was Andretta Dear from Cincinnati, Ohio.

According to reports, Dear was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner.

KSP says four juvenile passengers were in the vehicle and were all injured. They say two were flown by air ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville and the other two children were transported by Muhlenberg County EMS to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

On Friday, both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed temporarily due to being utilized as landing zones for the EMS helicopters.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of travel are now open.

More information will be released as KSP Troopers continue the investigation.
