FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) -- As America gears up for travel this Independence Day weekend, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles is warning of credit card skimmers at gas pumps.
Skimmers are devices planted inside card readers to steal your credit information.
The state department of agriculture says they have found four skimmers while inspecting more than 20,000 pumps across the state this year.
The department says "stay away" if you see locks on pumps that appear tampered-with or if a door looks like it may have been pried open.
You can also avoid skimmers by paying inside the store.
