BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- This week word came that after nearly 150 years of entertaining fans of all ages Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus is shutting down for good.
Nick Wilkins of Bowling Green has performed as Broadway the Clown for decades. He attended Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Clown College, and worked with the circus for years.
He believes this decision changes everything. "I think it will affect the future of the circus," said Nick. "I think Cirque du Soleil and the fact that they're using no animals and that it's a more theatrical approach, is kind of the way of the future."
Nick plans to keep "clowning around" as long as he can though. He tells us how it all got started, as he transforms into Broadway the Clown on this weekend's Sunday Conversation on 13 News at 10.
