BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The countdown is on before Thanksgiving dinner, and locals are taking to local markets for their feasts needs. Doors are opening, and people are piling in.
"It's a pretty hectic time of year," Price Less Co-Store Manager, Nick Walters said. His store is getting stocked and even collecting food for the less fortunate.
"We try to feed about 40 families in the county," Walters said. "Everybody deserves a good holiday."
People shopping are telling us that it's not an easy task to do.
"It's hectic, very, hectic, especially with kids," said shopper Leanne May. She had a full cart and two young kids with her, but she enjoys cooking and the holidays, so to her, the chaos is worth it.
"It's really nice to be able to walk in and find what you need," May said. "And not worry about them being out of it."
Walmart store manager James Sowder tells 13 News his store overstocks, so his community can have what they need even the morning of Thanksgiving. He even gave some tips on how to shop.
"Make a list, so you know exactly what you are coming in for," Sowders said. "And don't wait until the last minute. You have competition then. Everyone needs something."
This most wonderful time of the year is a time where everyone needs to prepare.
"People are loading up and getting ready to celebrate this time with family," Sowders told 13 News.
Whether it's canned goods or turkey, local markets have what you need for this time of year.
