UPDATE: Manhunt for Shawn Christy continues in Adair County

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- UPDATE 4:00 p.m.,

Timothy Gilliam of Adair County says he arrived home last night around 6 p.m. and realized his house had been broken into.

"We had troopers respond and go out and clear the house and there was no one there, but they did find that there was food missing out of the fridge and that the suspect had stolen a 2001 jeep," said Trooper Hale with Kentucky State Police Post 15.

According to surveillance footage from the home, police suspect it was Shawn Christy who is wanted by the FBI.

"99.9% sure that it's him. We've collected evidence. The guy made entry through the house with a sledge hammer," said Trooper Hale.

The Pennsylvania man has been on the run since June. He's made threats to the President, other elected officials, as well as Adair County native and Medal of Honor recipient, Dakota Meyer.

"You can't take it lightly, this guy has made threats to the president, made threats to Dakota, and obviously he means business," said Trooper Hale. "He's been in the area for a week and I don't know where he stayed."

There was about an 8:00 a.m. time stamp on the surveillance footage, police say.

"So it happened 10 hours prior to him getting home, so he had a good jump on us," said Trooper Hale. "He's camped out here for probably five days, so I think his intentions really are to do harm."

State police confirm that the stolen Jeep's license plate was tracked by a plate reader in West Virginia.

"I don't know where exactly but the vehicle has been seen by one of those," said Trooper Hale.

The U.S. Marshals Service continues to work the case searching for Christy while Kentucky State Police is handling the burglary.

"He's still on the loose so we still have work to do," said Trooper Hale.
