BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- They had been biking across the country for more than a month to raise money for Alzheimer research, and on Wednesday the men of the WKU 'FIJI' fraternity were back in Bowling Green.
The 12 fraternity brothers started their journey in Seattle, Washington, and planned to end it in late July in Virginia Beach.
Alec Brown said the journey wasn't easy, but it was one worth every ache and pain.
"We even got to interact with some Alzheimer patients in Bozeman, Montana, and that really makes this ride a whole lot easier, just thinking about what they deal with on a day-to-day basis. Knowing that I'm here, I can ride a bike, and if me riding a bike will raise money and maybe find a cure for that, then I'm all for it."
The Bike4ALZ group will be hosting a fundraising event in Fountain Square Park on Thursday night from six to eight before preparing to continue their journey.
