One man is dead following a two vehicle crash in Hopkins County

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- One man is dead following a two vehicle crash in Hopkins County.

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office investigated a two vehicle accident at the 117 mile marker on Interstate 69.

The investigation showed Harold Johnson was driving southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and entered into the median. He continued through the median and into the northbound lane, where his vehicle was hit in the driver's side by a vehicle driven by Darique Carter.

Johnson was taken to Baptist Health Madisonville, where he died from his injuries. The passenger, Diana Johnson, was also taken to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of her injuries. Her condition is unknown.

Carter was treated for minor injuries by MedCenter Ambulance Service, and released at the scene.

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Madisonville Fire Department and MedCenter Ambulance Service.​
