Police question Barren County man's disappearance

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) -- A month's old search that eventually came to an end for 27-year-old Spencer Huddleston of Barren County now has the sheriff's office thinking outside of the box over this missing persons case.

"We're kinda having a teeter totter between at this point a missing person investigation and a possible fugitive," Barren County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Houchens stated.

Back in early October, Spencer Huddleston was reportedly last seen on a Friday when he went fishing off of Siddens Road, leaving fishing poles, shoes and his car behind, sparking the initial search.

"We've had several leads come through the office. The detectives have worked pretty diligent on checking those leads, and haven't come up with anything substantial out of those leads," Deputy Houchens mentioned.

While Huddleston is still considered missing, Deputy Mike Houchens says the 27-year-old's track record could be a possible hint over his disappearance.

"Pretty satisfied that he's not in the lake. We have moved it toward a missing person investigation. Since that, he's also been entered in to the NCIC for warrants, outstanding warrants that he does have here in Barren County."

As the Barren County sheriff's office continues to investigate, Deputy Houchens says Spencer Huddleston's safety is at the highest regards.

"Our primary concern is to locate Mr. Huddleston, make sure he's okay obviously, and then once we do locate him, we'll obviously have to deal with the charges that he has."

A missing person with a possible motive.

Spencer Huddleston has warrants out for his arrest for arson, persistent felony offender, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

If anyone has a possible lead or knows where Spencer Huddleston might be, contact the Barren County Sheriff's Office at (270) 651-2771.
