RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -- Downtown Russellville is getting a makeover, and it's all thanks to one family.
The Hirsch family fell in love with the town, after moving there ten years ago.
When they noticed some of the buildings were needing renovations, they decided to step up.
Using money out of their own pockets, the family plans to completely re-do Downtown Russellville.
Property Manager John Street says the renovations will be a long process.
"They're going to turn them into two, wonderful boutique hotels and shops. Then do another restoration diagonally across the square, put in an ice cream parlor."
Although the process is extensive, their hope is to have the ice cream parlor open by late May.
