BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - While snow meant a day off from school for many area children, it meant extra work for the road crews.
Crews prepared for the winter weather for most of the day Wednesday by pre-treating the roads.
As Wes Watt, with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, explains they worked into the night and the morning to clear the roads as the snow began to fall.
"We did have some build up, even on the main routes I-65 and the U.S. routes it took us a few hours to get those cleared."
Watt says by Friday morning most the of the main routes were in good shape leaving them time to focus on the rural routes.
The transportation cabinet does caution even if it looks clear you should be on the lookout for slick spots through Friday night and Saturday morning.
