HOPKINSVILE, Ky. (WBKO) -- Several organizations around the country are warning about a new scam that petty criminals are trying to push out to the public as the total solar eclipse event promises to bring hundreds, if not thousands, of people to certain areas.

If you haven't bought a pair of viewing glasses you're going to want to take some extra precautions before buying them because they could damage your eyesight.

The Better Business Bureau says that there are counterfeits out there that won't properly properly protect your eyes from the sun.

On the right side of your screen you'll find a link to a website that lists approved retailers where you can buy safe glasses.
