Sponsor a child for Christmas through the Salvation Army's Angel Tree

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Salvation Army's Angel Tree went up Saturday at the Greenwood Mall. The Angel Tree includes over 900 children with their Christmas wish lists.

There are two ways to sponsor an angel. One, by contacting the Salvation Army and going into their office. The second way is to go directly to the angel tree. It's set up Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Belk from now until late December.

"Our goal is to do the most good, and so we try to help anybody we can, any age group. Especially at Christmas time, to bring the Christmas spirit and to show the love of Jesus to those who are in need," says Major Sandra Story, Salvation Army Corp Officer.

The tree will be up until December 13 and the gifts for an angel are due back to the Salvation Army by December 8. If you're already Christmas shopping in the mall, it makes it easy to pick up an angel, and shop for them right then and there.

"We are thankful that the Greenwood Mall allows us to set our Angel Tree up, and it's the perfect place. We're right next to the Children's Place, across from Belk, you've got JC Penny, many stores here where you could buy clothing and toys for our Angels," says Story.
