Taylor County man charged with Assault 1st

Campbellsville, Ky. (WBKO) -- Police say a Campbellsville man is arrested on multiple charges including assault.

Over the weekend, police say they responded to a call of a man being assaulted with a hammer. They say the victim, James Burdine was transported to the Taylor County Hospital unconscious before police even got there.

Officials say Burdine is now in stable condition at University of Louisville Hospital.

Police arrested Jeffrey Jones on the following charges:

-Assault 1st Degree
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Criminal 3rd Degree
-Resisting Arrest

Jones was taken to the Taylor County Jail.
