Traffic Impact Report: Week of August 7

Major construction projects continue along I-65 and the Natcher Parkway and several other projects across our area's counties are getting underway.

Here's what you need to know about this week's upcoming road work according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Warren County:

Expect double lane closures on I-65 from mile point 29 to 25 through the night this week - 8 p.m to 6 a.m.
A contractor will maintain two lanes of traffic through the daytime hours, but will manipulate traffic to complete the milling and paving of all three lanes in each direction.
Crews will also be putting finishing touches on the southbound ramps at exits 26 and 28, and will be moving on to the northbound ramps afterwards.

Lane closures are in place between the I-65 interchange and exit 9 while resurfacing gets finished.
As always, when merging onto the Natcher - yield to traffic already on the Parkway. The speed limit remains at 55 mph.
The project is expected to be completed at the end of August.

Mile marker 11.8 – Motorists should anticipate short term lane closures for bridge maintenance activities on the KY 2665 overhead bridge.

Mile marker 33.7 – Motorists should anticipate short term lane closures for bridge maintenance activities on the KY 403 overhead bridge.

Barren County:

The westbound lane of the South Fork Beaver Creek Bridge between mile markers 11 and 12 will be reduced to one lane until August 15 for bridge deck maintenance. Maximum lane width will be 9 ft.

Butler County:

Expect a one lane roadway on Russellville Rd. between mile markers 6 and 12.

Crews will also be performing bridge work on mile marker 12 of KY 403.
The roadway will be one lane controlled by traffic signals.

Logan County:

Expect a one lane road on US 431 as grade work continues near the shoulder of the roadway.

Simpson County:

A project that will reconstruct and widen KY 100 from I-65 to KY 622 continues.
Heavy construction equipment will be crossing KY 100. Motorists should be prepared for occasional delays due to the flagging operations.

U.S. 31-W – A temporary traffic diversion remains in place at the culvert over Sharps Branch at mile point 4.
The advisory speed through the diversion has been dropped to 25 mph and the speed limit through the project remains at 45 mph.

Access to U.S. 31-W from Macedonia Road is closed.
A detour is posted to allow motorist access to U.S. 31-W from Macedonia Road using Macedonia Spur Road.
The closure will last throughout the duration of the U.S. 31-W diversion being in place.

Access to U.S. 31-W from Lake Springs Road will remain closed.
A detour is posted to allow motorist access to U.S. 31-W from Lakes Springs Road using Hawthorne Street and Honey Suckle Road. The closure will last throughout the duration of the U.S. 31-W diversion being in place.

Todd County:

Expect a one lane roadway on KY 475.
Expect a one lane roadway and shoulder closures on KY 181 Greenville Rd. from mile points 15.7 to 17.2
Expect a one lane roadway and shoulder closures on KY 346 Ewing St. from mile points 0 to 0.9
Expect a one lane roadway and shoulder closures on KY 189 from mile points 0 to 1.9

Warren County:

Expect a one lane roadway on KY 2665 near mile marker 4 with a lane width of 12 ft. as crews perform bridge work.

New bridge construction over Drakes Creek continues on KY 234 Cemetery Rd. near mile marker 8.
Expect a one lane roadway Monday and Tuesday.
Delays in this area are possible. The speed limit is lowered to 35 mph as construction vehicles are expected to enter and exit the area.

A roundabout is being constructed at the intersection of KY 526 and KY 1320. Construction vehicles are expected to enter and exit the area.
