BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Western Kentucky University continues the search for its next president.
In a meeting Friday, the search committee started looking over applications to fill the prestigious role.
At some point, the committee will follow-up with references and interviews.
The search for a new president has not happened in 19 years and WKU takes the decision very seriously.
"It will impact the entire campus as well as the state. So, they are being very diligent in the process, in making sure that they hire the person who is going to be the right fit for the university," Director of Media Relations, Bob Skipper said.
WKU is still in the early stages of their presidential search. The next committee meeting is on November 11th.
