BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Many Bowling Green residents and nearby locals celebrated Earth Day on Saturday by getting rid of their unwanted household items in an eco-friendly way.
The Warren County Public Works Department along with their Stormwater Management division hosted their Household Hazardous Waste Day Saturday.
Residents lined up outside of Greenwood High School to drop off their unused TVs, computer parts, paint and more, to keep their hazardous items from going in to landfills.
Warren County Environmental Coordinator Stan Reagan says this is a great way to do some good for Mother Earth.
"People have the mindset that they want to clean out things, and this is a way for us to accommodate that and bring some awareness to what people need to do with this stuff year-round."
The public works department will host another event in October if you missed today's drop-off event.
