BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Warren County Road Department was out making the sure the roadways were safe Thursday.
Supervisor Jerry Young says the key is to pre-treat the roads before winter weather hits, but sometimes that isn't enough.
Young says it's important to be out on the roads making sure they stay safe when snow continues to fall.
He believes they have plenty of power to just that.
"We've got seven dump trucks with snow plows and salt spreaders," he says, "We just try to salt [the roads] and if it's deep enough, we'll scrape them as we salt them and then hope for the best."
Warren County Road Department currently serves over 700 miles of county road. Young says the most dangerous areas are hills and curves.
