Warren County looking to expand high-speed internet access

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon and the fiscal court are working to provide high-speed internet access to all of Warren County.

With the franchise agreement with the local cable and internet provider expiring, 1st District Magistrate Doug Gorman says the county is inviting other companies to enter Warren County, in hopes of expanding high-speed internet service to the entire county.

"The county is looking at ways of helping with that infrastructure cost," says Gorman, "but also partnering with these people that are interested right now in providing that service to the county."

In addition to expanding high-speed internet service, Gorman hopes competition between the companies vying to serve Warren County, will result in lower rates for customers.
