Over the past couple of weeks, a number of storm drainage grates have been stolen from Bowling Green streets.

The 3-foot-by-3-foot grates allow drainage of water run-off. The average weight of one of these grates is around 100 pounds.

These metal grates are very expensive, but only bring pennies when recycled. Not only does this cost the taxpayers money, but is a serious safety concern to pedestrians, bicyclists, and automobile drivers.

If you have information about this or any crime, please call South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 781-CLUE, or click here to go to their website. You could get up to $1,000 for your anonymous tip.

Crime Stoppers got several anonymous tips within mere minutes after showing some excellent surveillance pictures on last week's newscast. They resulted in the suspect being arrested for ATM Fraud.

Remember, Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name. Their telephone lines are not recorded, and they do not use caller ID or *69.

Thanks to YOU, Crime Stoppers works for all of us.
