Now on to state senate, as incumbent Democrat Joey Pendleton is up against Republican Whitney Westerfield.

For state senate in the 5th district, incumbent Republican Carroll Gibson is running unopposed.

For state senate for the 15th district, Democrat J. Scott Wantland will face off against Republican Chris Girdler.

For 14th district state representative, Democrat incumbent Tommy Thompson will be up against Republican Marian Turley.

For 15th district state representative, Democrat incumbent Brent Yonts will face off against Republican challenger Marshall Prunty.

For state representative in the 16th district, Democrat incumbent Martha Jane King will be up against Republican Chris Hightower.

For the 17th district state representative, Republican C.B. Embry is unopposed in the general election.

For state representative in the 19th district, Republican incumbent Michael Meredith will face off against Democrat Dottie Sims.

For state representative in the 20th district, long-time incumbent Democrat Jody Richards will be challenged by Bowling Green Republican businesswoman Regina Webb.

For state representative for the 21st district, Republican incumbent Jim DeCesare will run unopposed in the general election.

For state representative for the 22nd district, incumbent Democrat Wilson Stone is also running unopposed in the general election.

For state representative for the 23rd district, Incumbent Democrat Johnny Bell is also running unopposed in the general election.

For state representative in the 53rd district, Democrat Thomas Dodson will run against Republican Bart Rowland.
