GSTAAD, Switzerland (AP) -- Roman Polanski is still in a Swiss jail. It isn't clear whether the director has paid his full $4.5 million bail.
The Swiss Justice Ministry isn't saying what guarantees Polanski will need to give before being transferred to house arrest at his chalet. But in addition to the bail, he must surrender his identity papers and wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.
Once he's released, Polanski will be confined to his chalet while Switzerland decides whether to extradite him to the U.S. for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
A French diplomat who visited Polanski said the filmmaker "is in good spirits" and feels he has been treated well.
